old pig ramp |
Description: |
This is the remains of a by-gone era pig ramp. Seaboard Coast Line and the original Norfolk Southern used this ramp to load and unload many flats at this location. Vandals have since tried to torch it |

36,000 horsepower ? |
Description: |
This is part of the dispersement (sale) of the AC6000 units from CSX to Progress Rail. According to "Forward Progress," these six ex AC6000 (4400), along with 35 more AC6000's have been purchased by Progress and are to be delivered to ACWR. ACWR in turn will repair these units as time allows, return them to Progress who in turn is leasing them to Union Pacific. It is unknown if these will be repainted to any scheme, other than blanking out "CSX." |

DErated AC6000 |
Description: |
This is the GE builder ID tag that is on all of the AC6000's seen in Aberdeen. Each one lists them at 4400 hp. Also note how cheap the paint job is...you can see where the person doing the taping, didn't do a very good job of it. |

This is what is left of a grade crossing near Aberdeen NC. The original NS used to cross here into a sand pit and after it was used up, the spare rail was placed in between the guage and paved over to eliminate hauling away the rail |
